The Press Club of Long Island, a chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, has announced its special media award honorees in advance of the PCLI Media Awards dinner on Thursday, June 2, at the Melville Marriott.
The newest inductees in the Long Island Journalism Hall of Fame selected by the PCLI board are Bryan Boyhan (Sag Harbor Express), Joye Brown (Newsday), Drew Scott (News 12 Long Island) and Chris R. Vaccaro (PCLI/SPJ), who is being inducted to the PCLI Wing of the Hall.
This year’s Bob Greene Public Service Award was earned by News 12 Long Island for its ongoing series “The New Normal,” which provides millions of viewers with news and information about the pandemic and the economy.
PCLI will also recognize scholarship recipients: Rachel Luscher of Hofstra University, Max Robinson and Nicolas Rontanini of Adelphi University and Mattituck High School’s Daniel Rosato.
The other PCLI Media Award finalists will be announced about May 1 once judging is complete.
