Members of the Long Island Journalism Hall of Fame spoke about their careers, gave perspective on the future of journalism and shared stories from the field during a discussion at Hofstra University on November 11, presented by the Hofstra Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Press Club of Long Island.
Panelists included Bill Bleyer (retired Newsday), Scott Brinton (Long Island Herald), Carolyn James (ACJ News) and Sandra Peddie (Newsday). Chris R. Vaccaro, the director of graduate journalism at Hofstra, advisor of Hofstra’s SPJ chapter, a former PCLI president and current SPJ Region 1 coordinator, was the moderator.

The Press Club of Long Island, a chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, launched the Long Island Journalism Hall of Fame in 2014 to recognize trailblazing journalists, past and present.
