The Hofstra Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Press Club of Long Island are collaborating for a night with Long Island Journalism Hall of Famers.
The discussion will take place on Thursday, November 11, at 7 p.m. at Hofstra University’s Herbert Hall in Studio A. The event is open to the public, as well as students and faculty. Attendance is free, but please RSVP to the event! All attendees must be vaccinated and wear a mask.
Panelists include Long Island Journalism Hall of Famers Bill Bleyer (retired Newsday), Scott Brinton (Long Island Herald), Carolyn James (ACJ News), Sandra Peddie (Newsday) and John Conrad Williams (Newsday). The discussion is being moderated by Chris R. Vaccaro, the director of graduate journalism at Hofstra, advisor of Hofstra’s SPJ chapter, a former PCLI president and current SPJ Region 1 coordinator.
The Hall of Famers will talk about their careers, give perspective on the future of journalism and share stories from the field.
