Delia Paunescu is a writer, editor, producer and social media consultant. She is currently one of the co-writers of the Muck Rack Daily newsletter, a weekday rundown of the top headline that journalists are tweeting about. Since taking on that project in 2012, the MRD has grown from 7,000 subscribers to over 80,000.
Delia also writes her own TV and pop culture newsletter, A Waste Of Time, though editions are rather sporadic these days (blame the pandemic). Her other writing has appeared in Vox, Vulture, Elle, Daily Intelligencer, Racked and Brooklyn Magazine, among others.
Separately, Delia has led social accounts since that was a thing you could do (let’s roughly call it 2010). She cut her teeth at VaynerMedia before running social for Food Network, the New York Post, and becoming the first audience engagement editor at Newsday and amNewYork, where she launched a social team to oversee both newspapers.
Delia then spent two years as a senior producer at NowThis overseeing coverage for the 2016 Election, the Harvey Weinstein scandal, and all the breaking news in between.
She is originally from Romania, but grew up in Florida, and yes, welcomes all #floridaman jokes on Twitter.
Carlo Versano is the editor of Cheddar’s Need2Know newsletter, with nearly 400,000 subscribers and a 30 percent open rate. He is also the founder and co-host of the companion Need2Know daily podcast. Carlo is an Emmy-winning journalist with 15 years of experience producing, writing and editing in national newsrooms, from NBC News to Cheddar. He earned his bachelor’s in Journalism and political science from the University of Richmond and master’s from The New School, where he studied media management. Carlo lives in Brooklyn with his wife and fellow journalist, Becky.
Karen Bloom is the features/special sections editor at Herald Community Newspapers. She is an accomplished journalist with over 35 years editing, reporting and developing projects for newspapers, magazines and trade journals. Her wide-ranging experience also includes marketing communications roles with leading New York City-based retail companies.
She has been with Richner Communications, Inc., publisher of the Herald, since 2003, where she guided the newspaper group’s launch of its Coronavirus Newsletter in March.
