All of us at the Press Club of Long Island were saddened to learn of the passing of Newsday investigative reporter Brian Donovan after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He will be deeply missed by the Long Island journalism community.

Donovan, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, was a towering figure of Long Island journalism. He will long serve as a role model for today’s generation and future generations of journalists, here and beyond. He was clearly talented and tenacious in his reporting. At the same time, by all accounts, he was a kind, humble family man who wanted to the right thing always and change the world for the better.
That is why, earlier this month, we were honored to induct Brian Donovan into the Press Club of Long Island’s Hall of Fame.
