Steve Wick, Newsday’s investigations and enterprise editor, has been named the Press Club of Long Island’s 2010 Outstanding Long Island Journalist, capturing PCLI’s highest to an individual journalist.
Wick’s distinguished reporting and editing career at Newsday started in 1977.
Since then, he has been a Long Island reporter, a member of the award-winning Investigations Team and a lead writer on the yearlong Long Island history project.

Wick has demonstrated mastery of the wide range of writing and editing techniques that he employs on a daily basis to construct both hard-edged investigations and deeply reported, detail-laden narratives that celebrate the human spirit.
Wick will be presented the Outstanding Long Island Journalist Award at the annual Media Awards dinner on Thursday, June 10, at the Woodbury Country Club.
