The Press Club of Long Island, the local chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, has named News 12 Long Island News Director Patrick Dolan as the recipient of the 2009 Outstanding Long Island Journalist Award. The award is PCLI’s highest honor to an individual.
The Press club will present the award to Dolan at the annual PCLI Media Awards dinner on June 4 at the Woodbury Country Club in Woodbury.
Additionally, Dominick Miserandino, executive editor of TheCelebrityCafe.com, will receive the Phil Spahn Award, presented to a PCLI member who has demonstrated outstanding service to journalism, PCLI or to the community.
PCLI has also named Brad Pareso of the Long Island Press as this year’s Cub Reporter of the Year.
PCLI will also recognize the outstanding efforts of local college journalism students with two $1,000 college scholarships. The scholarships will go to Robert Hahn and Denise Harwick, both students at New York Institute of Technology.

At the dinner, PCLI members will also elect the club’s leadership 2009-2010.
