In these rough times, every penny counts. That's why, for the second straight year, the Press Club of Long Island is waiving membership dues for 2010.
In these rough times, every penny counts. That’s why, for the second straight year, the Press Club of Long Island is waiving membership dues for 2010.
Membership in the Society of Professional Journalists is still required, but SPJ, too, is doing what it can to help. The Society is offering a six-month dues waiver to current members who have been laid-off as a result of these unfortunate circumstances.
The PCLI dues waiver is
meant to encourage local journalists to take advantage of the club’s benefits, which include discounts to great programs such as a Video for Dummies series, a recent social media panel discussion and regular mixers.
Plus, get reduced prices for our annual PCLI Media Awards contest and the Holiday Show and Party.
Upcoming programs include a tutorial on the use of Google Analytics (Jan. 14) and a discussion on the benefits and pitfalls of requiring people to pay for news online (February).
And make sure to look out for the PCLI Media Awards Call for Entries in the next few weeks!
Happy Holidays!
