Press Club of Long Island

It’s time, once again, for the annual Press Club of Long Island Media Awards Competition, recognizing outstanding work in print, broadcast and online journalism produced during 2011.

Newsday investigative reporter Sandra Peddie has been named PCLI’s 2011 Outstanding Long Island Journalist.

Jennifer Gustavson, a reporter at the North Shore Sun, was named the 2011 James L. Murphy Cub Reporter of the Year.

The ceremony was at the Holiday Inn, Plainview, where we normally held our other PCLI meetings. There was no dinner. Just a bunch of seats in a small room with thin walls, where, as usual, we were being drowned out by the noise of a union meeting in an adjacent room.
