SPJ Region 1 Spring Conference sponsorship opportunities

The 2012 Society of Professional Journalists Region 1 Spring Conference will be held at Stony Brook University March 23-24.

The event, organized by the Press Club of Long Island, the local chapter of SPJ, is expected to attract more than 100 professional and student journalists from Maine to Pennsylvania for a day and a half of programming at the Charles B. Wang Center. We are also holding an opening reception at the carriage museum at the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook.

As is usual for these regional conferences, PCLI is seeking sponsorships from local media companies in order to hold down the cost of registration for participants, especially students. In return, we offer credit to the sponsors in several ways: mentions in all announcements, ads in our journal and the opportunity to display banners at the reception, breakfast and coffee breaks.

Sponsorship also helps us show Long Island in the best possible light by not only having a great conference but also demonstrating the vitality and diversity of our local media.

Sponsorships — or co-sponsorships by more than one organization — are available for the events listed below. The sponsorship costs are based on registration estimates and caterer costs. Take a look below, then provide us with a little information to get started.
