The Press Club of Long Island has set the date for the 2012 Region 1 Spring Conference.

Co-hosted by The Deadline Club and the the Connecticut and New Jersey professional SPJ chapters, the muyst attend event, themed Surviving the Storm: How to Weather the Tough Times in Journalism, will feature media recruiters, career guidance, professional development, resume critiques and much, much more!

In these rough times, every penny counts. That’s why, for the second straight year, the Press Club of Long Island is waiving membership dues for 2010.

The shield law bill, S. 448, has passed the Senate Judiciary Committee. It will now go to the full Senate.

“This is such an honor for the Press Club to be considered by the Society of Professional Journalists to be one of three Best Chapters of the Year in the country!” said John O’Connell, PCLI’s president.
