140 finalists have been selected in more than 50 categories for print, broadcast and web journalism.

Television host Jerry Springer described his transition from news anchor to self-described “circus ringmaster” in a discussion with The Press Club of Long Island on Tuesday evening.

Following this week’s Press Club of Long Island event with television host Jerry Springer, he announced he would be donating $1,000 to the club’s scholarship fund.

The Press Club of Long Island is hosting a fundraiser for its scholarship fund at Revolution Bar and Music Hall on Wednesday, May 23.

Karl Grossman, a Long Island-based journalist for 50 years and founding president of the Press Club of Long Island, will give a presentation on his decades of experiences at Canio’s Books in Sag Harbor.

The Press Club of Long Island hosted this year’s SPJ Region 1 Conference at Stony Brook University.

At the conclusion of this year’s SPJ Region 1 Conference, the Press Club of Long Island donated the remaining food to Lighthouse Mission located in Bellport, N.Y.

The Hofstra chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) has been selected to host a regional conference for students of PR and communications from all over the Northeast.
