Hofstra’s Gabriella Ciuffetelli wins Robert W. Greene/PCLI scholarship

Gabriella Ciuffetelli, a senior at Hofstra University, has been named as the recipient of the school’s Robert W. Greene/Press Club of Long Island scholarship.

She will be recognized at a scholarship luncheon held at the school.

Ciuffetelli is pursuing a double major in journalism and political science, and a minor in economics.

“Being awarded this scholarship is such an honor,” said Ciuffetelli. “It feels wonderful not only to be acknowledged by the Press Club of Long Island, but also to be among the past winners who have done such amazing work as well. It’s truly humbling, and I am so thankful to those who made this scholarship possible, as well as the professors and mentors who helped me to get to this point.”

She is currently spending a second semester as a college associate at Fox News, a contributor at Red Alert Politics and a television production instructor at Dream Makers Performing Arts.

She has previously interned as a news writer with The Washington Examiner, a politics writer with Pasquines, a politics and business writer at Fortunate Life and a political blogger at Degree180. She is also an alumna of the Institute on Political Journalism, for which she currently serves as an alumni ambassador.

At Hofstra, Ciuffetelli serves as the editorial editor and news writer for the Hofstra Chronicle. She previously served as an associate producer for the television news station Hofstra Today, and the copy chief for The Screening Room, a radio show and blog dedicated to television and movie news.

Academically, she is member of both the HUHC Honors College Program and the Phi Eta Sigma academic honor society. She is also enrolled in her university’s dual degree program, and has begun working on obtaining a master’s degree in Journalism.
