Amala Nath, a journalism student at Hofstra University, was recently honored with the Robert W. Greene-Press Club of Long Island Scholarship during an awards luncheon.

A journalism major and anthropology minor, Nath, is set to graduate this spring. She was accepted into Hofstra’s five-year journalism program and will embark on obtaining her master’s degree in journalism at the university in the fall.

Nath, of Uniondale, N.Y., has completed internships with Live Nation, MTV News, NextMovie.com and Fox News Channel and is currently interning at Iced Media, a social media agency in Manhattan.

“This scholarship has opened many doors for me and I am extremely grateful,” said Nath. “Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community.  I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.”
