LI media notes: RiverheadLOCAL accepted to NYPA

RiverheadLOCAL is the first all-digital news media accepted for membership in the New York Press Association. The 160-year-old organization of community news publishers includes more than 727 weekly newspapers, 58 dailies and 147 culturally-specific newspapers across N.Y. state. PCLI presents investigative reporting workshop

The Press Club of Long Island is hosting an Investigative Reporting Workshop on March 6 in the auditorium at Newsday. The program features Christopher Twarowski of Long Island Press, and Adam Playford from Newsday. Pizza will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the program will kick off at 7 p.m.

LI Journalism Hall of Fame

The Press Club of Long Island, a chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, announced that it will create a Long Island Journalism Hall of Fame to recognize trailblazing journalists, past and present. The first inductees will include all previous recipients of the annual PCLI Outstanding Long Island Journalist Award, the group’s highest honor to an individual.
