Entry Rules
- Entries must have been published, posted or broadcast between January 1 and December 31, 2011.
- All entries must be published/broadcast by a Long Island media outlet, and/or written by a Long Island-based journalist. All entries must be about a Long Island topic, event or personality, except for the new non-Long Island topic category mentioned above.
- Entries must be made by news organizations or individual journalists.
- Articles, photos and videos that appeared in either in-house company publications or association publications are NOT eligible.
- Online stories, videos and photos that first appeared in other online sources are NOT eligible.
- A story or broadcast may be entered in up to two categories. In addition, that story or broadcast may also be entered for a Public Service Award in the All Media Awards division.
- PCLI reserves the right to withold awards in a category where judges have determined none of the entries in that category are worthy of an award.
- All entries must be submitted no later than February 26, 2012.
- Fees should be paid at the time entries are submitted and are non-refundable. Organizations sending corporate checks for multiple entries may make checks payable to “Press Club of Long Island.” A list of all entries and the fee paid for each must accompany corporate checks.
- Only one first place award or certificate (for second and third places) per category will be given. Additional first place awards can be ordered from PCLI for a fee of $50 per award, after the winners are announced. Additional second-and third-place certificates can be ordered for $10 per certificate. All orders for 2012 duplicate awards must be placed by August 31, 2012.
- Companies and organizations paying for both member and non-member entries with a company check must pay the $30 organization rate for all entries and are not eligible for the individual or member rate.
- Please check your entry for accuracy and completeness. Entries not meeting specified rules will be disqualified and entry fees will not be refunded. The Press Club is not responsible for errors submitted on entry forms.

Online media entries must provide the URL where the entry can be found. Include any passwords necessary to gain access to entries. If a video appears exclusively on broadcast or cable TV and does not appear online, the video can only be entered in TV categories.

Submit a link, URL or MP3 of the entry as it appeared or was heard on the air/cable. If a video appeared exclusively online and not on broadcast or cable TV, the video can only be entered in the online categories.
